Newport Film Festival Award Winner selected for RIIFF

(Newport / Providence / North Kingstown, Rhode Island, USA) The 11the Annual Rhode Island International Film Festival has selected “The Strange Case of Marie France,” to screen on Saturday, August 11th at 2pm at the Providence Library.

The film by Rhode Island writer and producer Vin Fraioli won the coveted Audience Award for “best short film” at the 10th annual Newport International Film Festival held a few weeks ago. It has also been accepted in numerous international festivals around the United States including Palm Beach, Newport Beach, Cannes, Woods Hole, Long Island International Film Exposition, the Killington Vermont Film Festival's Short Film Competition, Rome Georgia, and more.

The story concerns Robert Berger, a man obsessed with creating beauty and order in his museum-like home. When his family thwarts him at every turn, a provocative savior appears. Or does she?

The film, shot in North Kingstown, RI was directed by award winning German cinematographer Till Neumann with a cast that includes local actors Laurie Lajoie, Mari Dias, Vin Fraioli, and Frank Miele.
